Set amid sun-soaked vineyards and accessed via an unsurfaced track, this beautiful house exudes a sense of calm countryside seclusion, yet it is just 5km from the sandy San Lorenzo beach, and from the bustling Baroque streets of Noto, making it a well-placed base for sightseeing, shopping and sea bathing. And if Barocco boasts the best of both worlds in its location, it continues that ethos within the villa itself, blending tradition with modernity to create a unique style of informal elegance. Raised slightly above the lie of the land, for views right down to the coast, the single storey house has spacious bedrooms and stylish shower rooms, flanking the comfortably uncluttered sitting room.
The two double bedrooms are at the front of the property and the two twin bedrooms at the rear. With whitewashed roof rafters, TV and WiFi, and soft sofas in earthy tones, this room is open-plan to the dining kitchen, where rustic chic raffia-seated chairs are set beside sleek steel appliances, lit by an arty chandelier. Outdoors, the wrap-around terrace is replete with a sundowner corner, barbecue, and table for twelve under canopy shade; and steps lead down to the private pool and its huge sunny terrace, encircled by a silvery olive grove.
Important information
Please note that the unsurfaced access road to the property is rough in parts, not suitable for low slung cars.
Changeover day flexible outside of July and August but Saturday preferred (minimum stay 7 nights).
