Porto Ulisse

The wind-whipped peaks of Capo d’Orso are mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey, tradition has it that Ulysses anchored his ship in the bay below this house, and the likelihood is that little has changed in tempo and tranquillity during the time in between. With captivating views from its lovely loggia and from an al fresco dining area beneath the trees, this wonderfully welcoming villa is imbued with a happy and relaxed atmosphere. Within the main house, an airy living room is furnished informally with big seats and bags of colourful cushions, and five cheerfully individual bedrooms, simply furnished in attractive coastal style, include two doubles with doors on to wide furnished terraces and bath or shower rooms of a good size.  

There are two dining terraces for sun or shade. A separate guest cottage offers privacy for two with its own kitchenette, colourful sitting area opening to a terrace, new shower room and twin/double bedroom. And a path through the trees leads down to two virtually private white sand bays, where boulders, smoothed by time and tide, become huge abstract artworks.  Small boats (hired at Palau, 3km away) can be moored here, perhaps for excursions to the Maddalena islands. And Porto Raphael is just 5km from the villa.
