The highlight of the garden is the private salt water pool with two sets of marble Roman steps set in a pretty patio. The verandas provide several lovely spots from which to admire the gardens, with comfortable and stylish soft seating and outdoor dining areas. Inside on the ground floor there is a large living room, which both opens out on to the veranda and leads through to a dining room with TV area. There is a spacious kitchen with breakfast area, the perfect mix of traditional style and modern appliances. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms with access to the verandas, one with an en suite shower room and the other with an en suite bathroom. A further two bedrooms with shower rooms en suite are found on the first floor. The property has been elegantly furnished with original period pieces such as the wooden console tables, beautifully decorated plaster fireplace and 19th century Sicilian style carved headboard. Traditional Sicilian pottery is dotted throughout the property, and pretty Majolica tiles also feature in the kitchen and one of the en suites. The caretaker lives unobtrusively on the grounds and will be happy to answer any questions about the Sicilian way of life. The shops and restaurants of Marsala, famous for its dessert wine, are just 4km away, with the beach only a little further. The Florio wine cellar is well worth a visit, as are the mills in the Stagnone area.
